” A Tale of Two Hats” – Trinity Visits Coca Cola Stadium

Last evening, a group of dedicated Iron Pig Fans visited Coca Cola Stadium to watch the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs play.  Their presence apparently brought luck to the Ironpigs, as the headline on their webpage indicates: “The Lehigh Valley IronPigs topped the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 4-2 Wednesday evening at Coca-Cola Park.” This represented a huge moment for them: “Pigs claim IL’s top record with 4-2 victory.”

Donna, who spent years in Wilks-Barre found herself in a challenging position, because she wanted both teams to win! To her great surprise, in the 7th Inning Stretch–while she was stretching her legs, she heard her name called and discovered that she had won a lovely Ironpig hat!

Going into the game, parishioners asked Donna if she would be saying any prayers. She responded, “No, I don’t pray at baseball games—and especially when I favor both teams.” After she won the ironpig hat, she came back with a humorous confession: “But, I did pray that I would win something.”

This morning she posed with the hat she wore to the game (with the symbol of the Episcopal Church) and then with her prize–with the Ironpig logo. Here are the photos (along with two taken by her daughter Patricia).
